Hi-Secure Cyber Resilience System Delivered for Excelerate's HHI Hull No. 3407

## Overview

In January 2025, UFEED configured and delivered **Hi-Secure**, the cyber resilience system for **HHI Hull No. 3407**, ordered by shipowner **Excelerate**, to HD Hyundai Marine Solution. Hi-Secure is a proprietary platform for which HD Hyundai Marine Solution holds the copyright; UFEED's role was to design the hardware configuration and carry out system integration in line with the IACS UR E26/E27 requirements applicable to this vessel.

## Delivered Configuration — Hardware Architecture

The Hi-Secure system delivered for Hull 3407 was built around a network architecture that divides the onboard network into multiple Security Zones, with each zone boundary controlled by a dedicated physical firewall.

| Component | Qty | Role |

|---|---|---|

| Check Point Firewall | 6 units | Protects each onboard Security Zone boundary (deployed one per zone) |

| L3 Switch | 1 unit | Core switch integrating and routing traffic between zones |

| NMS Server | 1 unit | Network monitoring and security event management |

| UPS | — | Maintains system availability during power loss or anomalies |

| KVM | — | Integrated control interface for servers and equipment |

| Rack | — | Houses all equipment to shipboard installation specifications |

Deploying a dedicated Check Point firewall per zone directly addresses IACS UR E26's requirements for **Security Zone & Network Segmentation** and **Network Protection Safeguards**. Each zone boundary is controlled by its own firewall, while the L3 switch centrally manages inter-zone traffic — ensuring that communication between zones stays within approved paths and policies rather than flowing unrestricted across the network.

## Why This Configuration Matters

- **Per-zone firewall deployment**: Compared to a single firewall controlling the entire network, this structure contains the impact of a fault or attack within the affected zone — a key contributor to overall resilience.

- **Continuous monitoring via the NMS server**: Supports the Network Operation Monitoring and audit log capabilities required under UR E26/E27 on an ongoing basis.

- **A complete, turn-key package including UPS, KVM, and rack**: Given the constrained installation environment and power conditions on board, delivering the full hardware package — not just software — minimizes the preparation burden on the shipyard and shipowner.

## Takeaway

This delivery reflects how UFEED's earlier experience operating the full 41-item IACS UR E27 Type Approval assessment translated directly into hands-on hardware configuration and delivery capability at the individual vessel level. The understanding of zone architecture and security requirements built during design review and certification testing carried directly into equipment configuration and delivery tailored to this specific hull's specifications.

UFEED will continue to support HD Hyundai Marine Solution as a delivery partner for Hi-Secure, configuring and delivering cyber resilience systems tailored to the specifications of each individual newbuilding.
